A Statement
The result of an aesthetic way of working is the original Artisan: Primarius’ city bike. This bike combines classic shapes with modern design: A visual masterpiece containing DNA of authenticity, agility, finesse and craftsmanship. Primarius’ Artisan proves that along with the perfection of the industrial revolution, we have also lost something substantial: authenticity. Creating each bike with complete heart and soul this bicycle’s creator left his marks: The miniscule imperfections give the Artisan its imagination, class and character. This makes this bike so much more than a refined assemblage of leather, rubber and steel.
Uncompromising Quality
Every Primarius Artisan is handmade and therefore unique. Each bicycle has its own serial number, giving it the status of “classic of the future”. The first thing noticeable is its refined arched frame. And those with a good eye for detail will smile when seeing the styled “P” of Primarius in the rear fork. The imperfections prove the work of a true craftsman who will make no compromise on quality. This is also the experience when riding the Artisan: very direct steering and superior handling. Let’s not forget about the classy finishing. For instance the royal blue lacquer: first the frame is hand polished and receives its first basic layer with a fine paintbrush. Then a process of sanding follows and applying layers of lacquer until the top layer can be added as the finishing touch.
Superior Final Assembly
The right balance of tradition and technique also shows in the choice of parts. The harmony between
the sturdy steel and aluminium, and the B17 special edition leather saddle and frayed leather handles is beautiful. Especially for Primarius, Brooks gave them a deep and warm cognac colour. Technically, the Artisan is also in the high end of the field with its top range Shimano parts: crank set and discs, switches and hub with eleven integrated gears. The other components are also manufactured by respected brands such as MKS (pedals), Schwalbe (tires), Velo-Orange (mudguards and handlebar), Bushnell (eccentric BB) and Columbus Zona (steel frame). As a connoisseur, this should tell you enough.
